李鎮雨は1959 年ソウル生。 現在はパリを拠点に活動。李は炭を撒いた上に韓紙を乗せ、鉄のブラシで叩くという作業を何層にもわたって繰り返すことで、特有の質感をもったモノクロームの画面を作り出します。
Lee JinWoo was born in Seoul in 1959. He is currently based in Paris. Lee’s practice involves placing Korean paper over scattered charcoal and tapping it with an iron brush. By repeating that process, he creates monochrome surfaces with a distinctive texture.
