創業447年になる城端蒔絵の十六代目を継承した小原治五右衛門による襲名記念展。一子相伝として白蒔絵法に加え、各代独自の表現を継承し続けてきた小原家十六代目の渾身の新作の数々を一挙公開。
An exhibition to commemorate the appointment of the 16th successor of Jigoemon Ohara, a name that stretches back 447 years and is associated with the tradition of Jōhana (white lacquer) maki-e. Several works will be on display, demonstrating the ways that the practice of Jōhana Maki-e and its unique expressive qualities have been passed down from father to son for generations.
